The Good, the Bad and the Big É: Our Designs Explained

· Style & Merch

Every design in our store comes from one of my two albums. Here is what each one shows, and why.

What comes from The Good & The Bad?

The Good & The Bad (2019) was my debut album, and our designs keep it in black and white:

  • The Good & The Bad Portrait: a gritty, distressed portrait of me behind the album title in heavy capitals.
  • The Good & The Bad Echo: pure type, with a speckled, worn echo of every line.
  • The Good & The Bad Tour: a black-and-white photo on the front and, on the back, the November 2019 tour dates, from Lincoln Hall in Chicago to the Imperial in Vancouver.

What comes from Love and Lies?

Love and Lies (2021) is brighter and looser, and so are these designs:

  • Love and Lies Lyric: LOVE in huge spiked coral letters on the front, and AND LIES on the back, threaded with a line from the title track's chorus.
  • Love and Lies Pink Portrait: tall hot-pink ANTHONY lettering behind a colour portrait, with the album title on the back.
  • Love and Lies Scattered Letters: my name and the album title drifting apart on the front, and a red, light-streaked night photo on the back.

What is the big É?

That is Échale, named after the Latin-inspired song from Love and Lies. A giant olive-green É fills the front, crossed by bright green lettering, and the back is all white paint drips and green splatter. It is the most playful piece in the store.
